Rickey Henderson Has Passed Away ...Middle East

Very sad news in the baseball world today, as Hall of Famer and legend Rickey Henderson has passed away.

The New York Post confirmed the passing, as Henderson was already being publicly mourned by some of his contemporaries around the game. I saw, but I guess I just kinda hoped it wasn’t true. Henderson was 65.

Rickey Henderson is best known as the stolen base king, but he was a tremendously gifted player in so many ways, and also played at a high level with a longevity that few players can match. Henderson reached the 100 wRC+ mark in his age-21 season … and in his age-43 season.

His list of career MLB records is long and impressive:

Most stolen bases: 1,406Most runs scored: 2,295Most games with a lead-off home run: 81Most unintentional walks: 2,129Most consecutive seasons with 1 or more home runs: 25Most seasons leading the league in stolen bases: 12

Henderson was an incredible player, a fierce competitor, and so much fun to watch on the field. Rest in peace.
