(FOX40.COM) -- Sacramento County deputies arrested a 28-year-old man on Friday morning in connection with the death of his 1-year-old son. Andrey Demskiy, 28, is accused of beheading his son.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a home in the community of Antelope around 4:15 a.m. for a call of a domestic disturbance.
Deputies talked to a woman outside of a residence who said that her husband had allegedly assaulted her and her mother.
The woman's mother was taken to a hospital, but her injuries were not life-threatening, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies then attempted to speak to the husband, Demskiy, but he refused to exit, the sheriff's office said.
The deputies learned from the woman that her 1-year-old son was inside the residence and that he may be injured after his father threw him.
Deputies entered the residence and detained Demskiy, and at the same time found the victim's severed head in the bedroom where they found Demskiy.
The sheriff's office said that Demskiy was allegedly involved in a dispute with his wife and mother-in-law, and when they exited the residence, he allegedly used a knife to cut the boy's head off.
He was taken to the Sacramento County Main Jail and is ineligible for bail, the sheriff's office said.
