Garvin Wesson, aged 68, of Carthage, TN, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Lebanon, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bonnie Wesson, as well as two grandchildren, Gavin and Kai Wesson.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Cheryl Wesson; his sons, Bryan and Joseph Wesson; eight grandsons and five granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and one sister along with three brothers.
Mr. Wesson was a graduate of Abilene High School, class of 1976, and served in the United States Air Force, stationed at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, TX. Garvin was a skilled craftsman who worked as a Job Superintendent and Project Manager with J.E. Crain & Rose Construction, successfully completing numerous projects throughout the middle Tennessee region. Notable projects included Lebanon’s Home Depot, Walgreens on West Main Street, a remodel at Physicians Plaza, and the addition to Rome Baptist Church, where he was an active member. He had a deep love for the Lord and found joy in singing traditional hymns as part of the church choir. Above all, his greatest passion was dedicating time to his family and friends.
Garvin Wesson was a true warrior and a servant to both his family and his community.
Celebration of life will be December 21st at 11:00am at Rome Baptist Church.
