The former Vanderpump Rules star took to his Instagram stories with a message days after the headline-making arrest. He wrote, "I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life. I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth and being present for my loved ones,"

While authorities confirmed to various outlets including People that there were "no visible signs of injury on the woman" when they arrived on the scene, Kennedy was still arrested. Per the reported arrest log, a woman inside the home confirmed that “her boyfriend lifted her up and threw her to the ground.” It is still not confirmed whether that woman was Lewber.
Kennedy was arrested and charged with "domestic battery upon a spouse or cohabitant." While he was booked into jail on the 11th of December, he was released on $20,000 bail. Kennedy's attorneys addressed the arrest on the reality star's behalf on the 13th in a statement.
"We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations levied by the Burbank Police Department against James," the statement obtained by People reads.

“We understand that there were no injuries and we are hoping that, after careful review, the city’s attorneys will decide not to file formal charges," the statement concludes.
