The Chicago Bears will have their starting running back available for tonight’s game against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.
Swift, who missed practice time this week while nursing a groin injury, is active for the Week 15 showdown of NFC North rivals. For what it’s worth, Swift was able to practice in a limited capacity by the end of the week. But still … Swift missing a pair of practices before making an appearance as a limited participant on Saturday is a cause for concern for me. If Swift can’t be a full go on MNF, Travis Homer and Darrynton Evans are the only other two active backs.
As for the list of inactive players, here it is:
Offensive lineman Braxton Jones Defensive tackle Gervon Dexter Sr. Running back Roschon Johnson Defensive back Ameer Speed Linebacker Noah Sewell Offensive lineman Ryan BatesBates, Jones, and Johnson are in concussion protocol and did not travel with the team. As for Dexter, he missed practice all week with a knee injury. I am unsure who will fill in to take the bulk of the reps in place of the big defensive tackle. However, it seems as if rookie offensive lineman Kiran Amegadjie will get the first crack at starting at left tackle for Braxton Jones. May the force be with us tonight.

Dan Feeney was with the Bears in 2023, appearing in 16 games (and even garnering one start). You might recall Brett Rypien lighting up the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game back in August. Ahhh, simpler times! And you definitely know Stephon Gilmore, a five-time Pro Bowl cornerback who was the 2019 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. He won’t be on the outside defending Bears receivers this week. Maybe that is something Chicago’s offense can take advantage of tonight.
