Carter was reportedly shot in the stomach/chest area by an unknown suspect in a parking lot and later taken to the hospital. Thankfully, surgery was not required and Carter was released 2 and 1/2 hours later.

He then transferred to Texas where he accumulated 9 tackles with 1 sack and 1 forced fumble. He didn’t see the field much in his final season in college, posting just 3 combined tackles against Alabama A&M and Mizzou.
