San Diego-Based Destroyers Fend Off Another Houthi Attack in Gulf of Aden

(Photo courtesy U.S. Navy) The San Diego-based guided-missile destroyers USS Stockdale and USS O’Kane successfully defended an attack by Iran-backed Houthi militants against merchant vessels in the Gulf of Aden, Central Command announced Tuesday. The destroyers were escorting three U.S. owned, operated, and flagged merchant vessels on Monday and Tuesday when faced with multiple drones and one anti-ship cruise missile. according to a press statement. “The reckless attacks resulted in no injuries and no damage to any vessels, civilians or U.S. Naval,” Central Command said.
