The conclusion was based on data analysis and video evidence reviewed by the team, as explained by Andrew Shovlin, Mercedes' head of trackside engineering. Hamilton and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz both suffered sudden front-left tyre punctures in quick succession during the race.
