Hillsborough Police: Chapel Hill Man Arrested After Traffic Stop

A Chapel Hill man was taken into custody and charged with several offenses after a traffic stop in Hillsborough on Thursday. According to the Hillsborough Police Department, 52-year-old Nathan Devon Brown – a passenger in the stopped vehicle – reached for a gun during the stop. Police say officers initiated a stop in the southern part of Hillsborough for a traffic violation and “suspicious activity that had been observed before the stop.” During the stop, Brown was ordered out of the vehicle “due to officer safety concerns based on his actions and demeanor.” Brown reportedly refused to comply and reached for a gun in the front pocket of his hoodie.
