Courtesy San Diegans vs. Big Tobacco More than a dozen Southern California retailers were sued this week by the San Diego City Attorney’s Office for allegedly selling flavored tobacco, which is banned under California law. Proponents of the ban, which took effect in 2023, say flavored tobacco products are marketed towards children. The city of San Diego enacted its own ban, and the City Attorney’s Office sued a group of local retailers last year for alleged violations, resulting in fines and injunctions.
