CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Senator Thom Tillis announced Tuesday that $27 million in grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation will go towards improvements at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT) as well as Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). “CLT and RDU are cornerstones of North Carolina’s transportation system, and we must continue to invest in both to support their growth,” said Senator Tillis. “This award will improve the experience passengers have at CLT and play an important role in RDU’s expansion, two important projects that I will continue to support.” CLT will receive $15 million for the replacement of up to 16 passenger boarding bridges and R
