CORTLAND — Victor “Vic” Glen Shaffer, 87, also known as “Jed” to his family, went to be with our Lord and was reunited with the love of his life, Norma Sollinger Shaffer, at 9:06 a.m. Saturday, Oct.12, 2024, at Ohio Living Lake Vista in Cortland. Victor was born Feb. 3, 1937, at home on Pifer Mountain in Tucker County, W.Va., to Edison and Goldia Jones Shaffer. Victor attended Newton Falls Schools in Newton Falls. Victor enlisted in the United States Army at 17 years old and proudly served his country. He was a tank gunner stationed at Schofield Barracks on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Victor married the love of his life, Norma Sollinger Shaffer, on June 15, 1963; and they shared 57 years
