Musician Charlie Puth married his childhood friend Brooke Sansone at his family home in Montecito, California. This event marked a significant moment in their lives, as the couple had rekindled their friendship and romantic relationship after reconnecting in 2022 . The decision to hold the wedding at the Puth family residence not only provided an intimate setting but also reflected the couple's desire to blend personal history with contemporary elegance. The ceremony featured a custom gown designed by Danielle Frankel for Sansone and bespoke attire from Bode for Puth, showcasing a harmonious balance of tradition and modernity.
The two started dating in June of 2022, and after a little over a year together, Charlie proposed on September 5, 2023. He flew from Los Angeles to meet Brooke in New York City and proposed at 11:11 p.m.—their favorite time. “It was just the two of us, sharing Chinese food on the couch in a beautifully intimate moment,” Brooke remembers. “Afterward, we FaceTimed our families to share the news and spent the next few days celebrating in NYC.”
Their wedding was held a little over a year later on September 7, 2024, at the Puth family residence in Montecito, California. “Ever since I was a little girl, I had a clear vision of how the day would unfold, making the process so much fun,” Brooke says. “Our planners Tory and Lauren of Smith + James Events were invaluable in bringing this vision to life, ensuring every detail was just as I imagined.”
When the Grammy-nominated "Attention" artist was interviewed on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show in October 2022, Puth said he appreciated being with someone he knew from his younger years. in New Jersey, before the fame.
"Honestly, I get so scared of people now," said Puth, who's now 32. "Like, I can't really walk anywhere for whatever reason, and I think the more that happens, the more I just want to retreat to someone I've known for a long time. I'm not really interested in going out like I used to and being crazy."
He said that Sansone had "always been very, very nice to me. I would assume that when times inevitably are hard in the future — because what is life without valleys and peaks — she would be there for me as well."
The couple shared a series of photos of themselves celebrating at Brooklyn pizza hotspot Lucali in Carroll Gardens. In the first picture in the carousel, Puth and Sansone could be seen snapping a selfie and holding glasses of white wine, with Sansone’s engagement ring visible on her left hand.
