Chiefs win over Bengals 26-25,Butker nails 51-yard field goal

The recent clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals culminated in a dramatic 26-25 victory for the Chiefs, highlighting the exceptional skills of kicker Harrison Butker. With mere seconds remaining on the clock, Butker successfully converted a challenging 51-yard field goal, securing his team's triumph in a highly competitive match. This win further solidifies the Chiefs' position as formidable contenders in the AFC, showcasing their resilience and strategic prowess under pressure.

Harrison Butker kept making a lonely walk to midfield after each quarter Sunday to check on the direction of the wind, which tends to swirl inside Arrowhead Stadium. He did it one last time during the 2-minute warning, when his Chiefs were trailing the Bengals by two and trying to give him a winning field-goal attempt.

When Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the offense did exactly that, helped along by a pass interference call on Cincinnati safety Daijahn Anthony on fourth down in the final minute, Butker once again headed onto the field as Chiefs fans began to roar.

Rarely does he miss. And they didn’t expect him to this time.

Butker's game-winning kick was set up by a pass interference penalty against Daijahn Anthony, who was covering Rashee Rice deep. Rice was the intended target for Patrick Mahomes on a desperation throw down the field on fourth down that, if a flag hadn't been thrown, would have sealed a victory for the Bengals.

The Bengals and Chiefs matched scores throughout most of the first half, starting with a pair of field goals in the first quarter that ended long drives.

Cincinnati marched 66 yards in 10 plays before Evan McPherson hit a 22-yard field goal, while the Chiefs answered with a 16-play, 69-yard drive that ended with a 19-yard field goal, tying the game at 3-3.

The Arizona Cardinals also had a huge win, although with a little less stress at the end, in a 41-10 blowout win over the Rams. Kyler Murray had a perfect passer rating of 158.3 and threw three touchdown passes in the win. The Rams may have lost more than the game though — All-Pro receiver Cooper Kupp les the game early and was seen in a walking boot after h did not return.

In Denver, the Pittsburgh Steelers flexed their muscle on defense once again in a 13-6 win over the Broncos. Justin Fields threw for just 117 yards, but didn't turn the ball over and Pittsburgh ran for 141 yards in the win. The Steelers defense has allowed just 16 points in the team's two games this season.
