According to a statement sent to the Times of San Diego, the triple-digit temperatures caused customers to shatter a decade-old record, with demand reaching 5,032 megawatts on Sunday. SDGE says the high demand and extreme heat caused many outages across the city, with 400 customers still without power as of 7 p.m. Monday.
