Technology expert Walid Abdel Maqsoud has warned users to avoid communication apps such as Telegram due to privacy concerns. In a phone-in with Azza Mostafa on the Sada al-Balad satellite channel, Maqsoud explained that the purpose of social media apps is to communicate with people from all around the world. However, he warned these social applications collect data on users as soon as they begin using it, with apps such as Telegram even collecting phone numbers without their knowledge.
