Two Southern California residents who allegedly had a pound of methamphetamine in their vehicle were arrested Thursday after allegedly leading officers on a pursuit that began in northern Mendocino County, the California Highway Patrol reported. According to the CHP, an officer tried to stop a vehicle for speeding on Highway 101 south of Leggett around 5:30 p.m. Dec. 10, and began pursuing the blue Nissan Sentra northbound when the vehicle did not stop. After additional units responded and deployed spike strips near the Richardson Grove area, the suspect’s vehicle came to a stop on Hwy 101 south of Garberville with two deflated tires.
