(KRON) – The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory and an excess heat warning for areas of the Bay Area. The advisories begin at 11 a.m. on Monday through 11 p.m. on Wednesday. A heat advisory was issued for the North Bay, South Bay Santa Cruz Mountains and Southern Salinas Valley interior areas. In these areas, daytime temperatures are expected to reach the 90s to nearly 100 degrees. Overnight the weather is forecasted in the upper 50s to 70 degrees.
