Rangers fall 0-2 to Man Utd

The recent match between Rangers and Manchester United ended in a disappointing 0-2 loss for the Scottish team. The game took place at Ibrox Stadium, where Rangers were hoping to secure a victory against one of the top Premier League clubs. However, the outcome of the match highlighted some key areas where Rangers fell short in comparison to their opponents.

One of the main factors contributing to Rangers' defeat was their inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Despite having several chances throughout the game, the team struggled to find the back of the net. This lack of efficiency in front of goal allowed Manchester United to take control of the match and ultimately secure a comfortable lead.

The runout at Murrayfield was another opportunity to build up fitness as 21 players got minutes under their belts, and Erik ten Hag saw a much-improved performance following Monday’s 1-0 reverse against Rosenborg in our first friendly of the summer.

Fans saw a first glimpse of French defender Leny Yoro, who had a solid first 45 minutes in a United shirt following his arrival from Lille on Thursday. Ten Hag named a mixture of youth and experience in his line-up, which included the return of Jadon Sancho, who made his first United appearance since 26 August last year after returning from a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho, who fell out with Ten Hag following criticism last season before returning to former club Borussia Dortmund on loan, was making his first United appearance since a Premier League win over Nottingham Forest 11 months ago.

Manchester United picked up their first pre-season win of the summer as they beat Rangers 2-0 at Murrayfield.

Leny Yoro and Jadon Sancho both started in a relatively strong lineup for the first-half. Summer signing Yoro was composed on the ball and sharp when called into action at the back, sliding in well with a last-ditch challenge early on as Rangers got in behind.

Rangers created some decent chances of their own, with Scott Wright involved and Danilo's acrobatic effort forcing a good save from the returning Andre Onana in the United goal, but it wasn't to be this time and Rangers will return to the drawing board with their next outing coming against Birmingham City on Wednesday night.
