The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the Public Parks Department, in co-operation with the Russian embassy, organised a tree planting event at the new Onaiza Park as part of the initiative to plant one million trees. The event was attended by the Public Parks Department director Mohamed Ali al-Khouri, Russian ambassador Nurmukhamad Kholov and embassy staff who planted saplings of trees compatible with the country's climatic conditions. MME has urged all entities, institutions and community members to contribute to the initiative given the special importance of trees for preserving the ecosystem and its implications for human health and quality of life.
