Opinion by Jackie Delamatre (CNN) — My hair — frizzy, curly, uncooperative — has always been a source of consternation to me and to those around me. The path to accepting it has been long, tangled and one of my greatest achievements. As antisemitic incidents have increased in recent months, I’ve become that much more determined to stick with my frizz as one small way to resist discrimination in all its forms. My mom had thick waves, but loved my corkscrews. As a hippie with a limited tolerance for primping, she never suggested losing the spirals.
