However, his recent request for President Biden to withdraw from the race has stirred controversy and debate within the political sphere.

Clooney, a major Democratic fundraiser, issued his call in a guest essay in The New York Times as prominent Democrats continue to step forward to question Biden's ability to win re-election against former President Donald Trump following Biden's debate performance last month.

President Biden’s team reportedly clapped back at the iconic actor on Wednesday after Clooney’s scathing New York Times guest essay that pushed for the president to step down from his reelection campaign in the wake of serious widespread concerns about his mental fitness.

Biden has refused to end his reelection bid after his weak debate performance against presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump on June 27.
