(KRON) -- A doctor who intentionally drove a Tesla over a cliff at Devil’s Slide -- with his terrified wife and two young children inside -- received a green light in court on Monday to be released from jail. Inmate records show Dharmesh Patel was out of custody by 4:30 p.m. Patel, 43, had been locked in a San Mateo County jail without bail ever since a January 2, 2023 crash. The doctor and his family were on a holiday trip to the Bay Area when Patel drove their Tesla over a 300-foot cliff. His family miraculously survived, and prosecutors filed attempted murder charges.
