New Delhi: New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has launched an initiative to boost drainage infrastructure by repairing damaged bell mouths and drainage lines that connect to manholes to prevent waterlogging and structure collapses during the monsoon.Some of the manholes have been impacted by long roots of trees planted along roadsides or adjacent to sidewalks.Under NDMC’s area, there are 11,867 manholes, 8,704 bell mouths and 14 major drains spread across 270.8km.Kuljeet Chahal, an NDMC member, said: “While bell mouths and drains are being cleaned daily to remove sludge or waste, it has been seen that many of bell mouths or drainage
