Crystal Palace forward Michael Olise has completed a £50.8M move to Bayern Munich, marking a significant milestone in his young career. The 19-year-old Frenchman has been making waves in the football world with his impressive performances and skill on the pitch, attracting the attention of top clubs like Bayern Munich.
Olise's move to Bayern Munich is a testament to his talent and potential as a player. The German giants have recognized his abilities and are confident that he will be a valuable addition to their squad. This transfer represents a major opportunity for Olise to further develop his skills and showcase his talent on an even bigger stage.
Olise completed his £60million move to Bayern on Sunday, having also been a target for United. The attacker endured an injury-hit season in the campaign just gone, but still scored 10 goals and notched six assists to help Crystal Palace secure a top 10 finish.
The 22-year-old winger had been linked with a return to Chelsea, where he played in the academy as a youngster, and a move to Manchester United but opted to join the German giants. He joined Palace from Reading in July 2021 and made 90 appearances for the Eagles, scoring 16 goals.
“The talks with FC Bayern were very positive and I’m very happy to now be playing for such a big club,” Olise told his new club’s website. “It’s a great challenge and that’s exactly what I was looking for. I want to prove myself at this level and play my part in ensuring that we win as many titles as possible with our team in the coming years.”
Olise was also voted 22/23 Players’ Player of the Season after becoming the first Palace player to record double digits for assists in an individual Premier League season.
Chairman Steve Parish said: “We are hugely proud of what Michael has achieved at Crystal Palace, a club where he has developed greatly as a player.
‘We respect his desire to further test himself at the highest level of world football, and I would like to personally wish him the very best for his next adventure with Bayern Munich in Germany which I’m sure we will all follow closely.’
Olise won’t link up with Bayern straight away however, having been picked by Thierry Henry for France’s Olympics team alongside now former Palace teammate Jean-Philippe Mateta.
