As we look ahead to the WWE Money in the Bank event in 2024, there are several predictions that can be made based on current storylines and trends within the company. One of the most anticipated matches is the Men's Money in the Bank ladder match, where superstars will compete for a chance to secure a future world championship opportunity. It is likely that we will see rising stars such as Ricochet and Damian Priest vying for this prestigious briefcase.
Money in the Bank never fails to be one of WWE's most exciting annual events and the 2024 installment emanating live from Toronto, Canada on July 6 looks to be no exception.
At one point WWE called these pre-premium live event pep rallys “press conferences”, but because they weren’t — and because they now hold those after PLEs as part of the Post Show) — they’re now Kickoffs. In the “New Era” at WWE, the pre-show program that used to be a Kickoff is now a Countdown. That will be along as usual tomorrow before the big show, as usual.
Here is a breakdown of the matches scheduled for tomorrow:
- There will be a men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match featuring Jey Uso, Carmelo Hayes, Andrade, Chad Gable, LA Knight, and Drew McIntyre.
- The women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match will include Iyo Sky, Chelsea Green, Lyra Valkyria, Tiffany Stratton, Naomi, and Zoey Stark.
- Damian Priest will defend his WWE World Heavyweight championship against Seth Rollins.
- Sami Zayn will defend his Intercontinental title against Bron Breakker.
- Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens will team up to face The Bloodline in a tag team match.
SummerSlam is fast approaching and thus the card should become more clear coming out of Money in the Bank. That could include a few familiar faces resurfacing at the show in order to kickstart whatever storyline they'll be involved in at the August extravaganza.
It has been well documented within the realm of WWE this year that anything is possible, making these the biggest shock returns that could realistically go down at Money in the Bank.
The only indicator that it won't be at Money in the Bank is the Wrestling Observer Newsletter report that Sikoa is slated to challenge Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Reigns' return would likely be saved for the end of SummerSlam in that case, but an appearance at Money in the Bank isn't completely out of the question.
