 July 1, 2024 (OMDURMAN) – The Sudanese army announced on Monday that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) partially destroyed the Halfaya Bridge over the Nile River. The bridge, situated north of the Sudanese capital, connects Khartoum Bahri to the east with Omdurman to the west. Eyewitnesses in Omdurman confirmed to Sudan Tribune that they heard a loud explosion just before midnight on Sunday, similar to the explosions heard when the Shambat Bridge, which also links Khartoum Bahri and Omdurman but from the south, was destroyed. The spokesman for the Sudanese army, Brigadier General Nabil Abdullah, said in a press statement that the RSF destroyed the eastern section of the Halfaya Bridge on Sund
