Valley Springs, CA — CAL Fire and other cooperating agencies are doing a hazardous fuels reduction burn at New Hogan Reservoir today ahead of the annual fireworks display that will take place this coming Saturday evening. Approximately 12 acres of grass is being ignited along the shoreline of the lake. In addition to removing fuels at the day-use recreation site, the effort is designed to provide firefighter training. It will only take a couple of hours. The burning started at eight o’clock this morning and is anticipated to wrap up during this 10 o’clock hour.
