The sanctions target key figures from both the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the two factions locked in a brutal war. Among those sanctioned on the RSF side are General Abdel Rahman Juma Barakallah, accused of committing atrocities in West Darfur, and the RSF’s financial advisor.
