The killing occurred around 7 p.m. Saturday at Ironwood State Prison in Blythe, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Luis Padilla, 42, was stabbed multiple times and pronounced dead a short time later by medical staff. His three alleged attackers — Juan Madrigal, 26; Jonathan Orduno, 23; and Samuel Ricardez, 28 — were detained and two “inmate-manufactured weapons” were recovere
