Mets reliever Grant Hartwig underwent surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his left knee, the team announced (X link via Tim Healey of Newsday). He’ll be out for six to eight weeks. Hartwig, 26, is a depth arm who has pitched for the Mets in each of the last two seasons. He made 28 appearances as a rookie, working to a 4.84 ERA across 35 1/3 innings. That was enough for Hartwig to hang onto his spot on the 40-man roster throughout the offseason. He has pitched in four big league games this year, allowing six runs over 6 2/3 frames.
