Multiple corridors of 127th Street in south suburban Blue Island were shut down on Friday afternoon as a heavy police presence was reported nearby. Eastbound and westbound lanes of the street were closed between Sacramento and California avenues at around 4:05 p.m. due to police activity, according to a social media post from the Total Traffic and Weather Network. Another portion of the street was shut down between Kedzie and Maple avenues, Total Traffic stated.
