CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 100-year-old one-room historically Black schoolhouse is restored to its former glory. Visitors to the Charlotte Museum of History in east Charlotte can now walk inside the Siloam School and experience what it was like to be a student in 1924. Workers were able to keep quite a bit of the original building on the inside, but not as much on the outside because the schoolhouse was beaten up over the years by the weather. Whatever they couldn’t save, they tried to make it just like it once was.
