Letters: Where are the facts?
To the Editor: Last Sunday, I feel Tom McFadden wrote a very well written letter to the editor about the destruction of the 133 year old Palace Hotel. It seems the decision by the City is a little too casual, particularly since they played a key role in the deterioration of the historic structure over time. They have to be considered complicit in the negligence of the last two owners since they did not enforce their own decisions to make certain changes to the Palace Hotel, or else. During that period, they allowed the time to lapse with no consequences. How could the City possibly deem the historic building must be torn down without first reviewing a current licensed structural engineering
