Caitlin Clark just signs multiyear endorsement deal with Wilson

Caitlin Clark, a standout player for the University of Iowa women's basketball team, recently made headlines by signing a multiyear endorsement deal with Wilson Sporting Goods. This partnership signifies a significant milestone in her career, as it not only recognizes her exceptional talent on the court but also solidifies her status as a marketable athlete.

Clark's decision to align herself with Wilson is a strategic move that will undoubtedly elevate her brand and increase her visibility within the sports industry. By partnering with such a reputable and well-established company, she is positioning herself for long-term success both on and off the court.

The WNBA player signed a multiyear deal with Wilson Sporting Goods Co., the league’s official basketball supplier, for “signature basketball collections celebrating Clark’s continued legacy,” the company announced Tuesday.

Wilson said that Clark will “test, advise and provide feedback on a range” of its basketball products, become a brand ambassador and release new collections that celebrate her throughout the rest of 2024. In addition, she will “creatively direct her first-ever signature basketball line” that will roll out later this year.

Three Clark-branded white-and-gold Wilson basketballs have already dropped. Each ball features laser-cut engravings of some of the guard's most memorable moments at Iowa, where she became the all-time leading scorer in Division I college basketball history.

As an ambassador, Clark will also test and advise Wilson -- the official game ball of the WNBA -- on its basketball gear.

Since Clark burst onto the national scene as a superstar in the college ranks, she has garnered deals with Nike, Gatorade, State Farm and more.

Clark and the Indiana Fever are 0-4 to start the WNBA season and have a chance to pick up their first win of the year Wednesday at Seattle.

The deal with Wilson includes special-edition basketballs celebrating Clark, but also an upcoming line of signature basketball styles. Clark will become the only player other than Michael Jordan to be given the signature treatment by Wilson. “I feel fortunate and lucky,” she says. “Michael is the best of all time. To see young kids eventually dribbling with my signature [ball], how lucky am I to be part of something like this, to be able to be the first to do this since [Jordan]? I think it puts into perspective how highly thought of Wilson is and what they are doing and the basketballs they are creating.”

As part of the deal, Wilson will release three limited-edition white and gold basketballs featuring Clark, commemorating her first season in the WNBA.

One shows her in a pose she often strikes after making her signature long-range shot.

Despite her success off the court, Clark's professional debut has been off to a rough start.

Clark's Indiana Fever have zero wins and four losses on the season, though she is the teams leading scorer, averaging 17 points a game.
