WARREN — Gerald E. “Jerry” Nelson, 78, of Howland, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, April 25, 2024, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was born July 17, 1945, in Oil City, Pa., a son of Charles and Sally Lesh Nelson. Jerry was a graduate of Oil City High School and went on to serve in the United States Air Force as a surgical technologist with the 804th Medical Group stationed out of Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota. He was awarded an honorable discharge for his service. Upon returning home, Jerry graduated from the Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and later the Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Anesthesia. It was here that he
