Ottawa, April 27 (IANS) Approximately 8.7 million people, or 22.9 per cent of Canada’s population, lived in households that reported some form of food insecurity in 2022, Statistics Canada has said. This is an increase of just under 1.8 million from the previous year when the rate was 18.4 per cent, the national statistical agency was quoted as saying on Friday by Xinhua news agency.
