The Carrboro Police Department shared details on Monday of a fatal hit and run case from one week prior, saying investigators are still actively on the case after identifying a suspect who struck and killed an unhoused person. A release from the department said 29-year-old Zachary Peeples died on April 15 from injuries suffered in a collision at 602 Jones Ferry Road, which is within the Willow Creek shopping center.
