Damascus, SANA- Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, Chief of the General Staff of the Army and Armed Forces, General Abdul Karim Mahmoud Ibrahim, paid a field visit to combat formations operating in the Syrian Badiya (Desert), on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. During the visit General Ibrahim met with field commanders in Palmyra, and conveyed to them President al-Assad’s congratulations on the Eid. General Ibrahim also toured a number of advanced positions in the Syrian desert, met the fighters there and reviewed their field and living conditions, with the general urging them to make every possible effort to remain constantly prepared to counter any attack and confront any infilt
