Bhubaneswar: Odisha Assembly speaker Pramila Mallik has disqualified Arabinda Dhali and Premananda Nayak from the membership of the Odisha Assembly. The disqualification will be effective immediately. They have been disqualified in exercise of the powers conferred upon the Speaker under paragraph 6(1) of the tenth Schedule of the Constitution of India. While Arabinda Dhali was the MLA from Jayadev, Premananda Nayak was MLA from Telkoi. They have been disqualified from the Odisha Assembly under the Anti-defection Law as they both had recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party quiting the Biju Janata Dal.
