Forecast: Thunderstorm Watch issued for part of Kansas

The weather forecast for parts of Kansas has issued a thunderstorm watch, signaling potential severe weather conditions in the area. As dark clouds gather and the air becomes heavy with humidity, residents are advised to stay indoors and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms have already developed across central KS as of 4 AM this Thursday morning. These will linger, grow and spread out as we continue throughout the morning. While most of these storms shouldn't be terribly strong across Kansas, we could see a few strong to severe storms across south central and southeast KS this morning. A better chance for potentially severe storms is possible again later this evening across the same area. If storms gain enough strength to become severe, 1" or larger hail and 55 mph or higher wind gusts will be the biggest concerns.

A supercell storm that moved across southern Kansas produced hail and heavy rain, flooding roadways and leaving some cars stalled out in the high water.
