Crime drama fans, the BBC has acquired another surefire hit of a series – and is bringing Rebus to our screens this spring. The series, which was the first UK drama commission from Viaplay, will air on BBC Scotland, BBC One and iPlayer soon, and is based on the best-selling Inspector Rebus novels by award-winning author Ian Rankin. Previously announced back in 2023, the show stars Richard Rankin (Outlander) as Detective Sergeant John Rebus. It is, of course, not the first time that the Rankin novels have been adapted for the small screen, with ITV’s Rebus adaptation airing between 2000 and 2007 and starring John Hannah and Ken
