Women were there for the pleasure of men and clearly subservient. Perfect was only the only acceptable outcome. You were defined by how hard you worked. My relationship with him was fraught with misery, forever irreconcilable. Eddie Kay turned out to be the perfect negative role model for me, representing almost everything I refused ever to become.
