COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A Furman University football player who was in critical condition following a medical emergency on Wednesday died Friday, according to Furman University. Bryce Stanfield, a junior health sciences major from Acworth, Georgia, collapsed unexpectedly during a morning workout on Wednesday, the university said. He was immediately taken to a Greenville Memorial Hospital and placed on life support, according to President Elizabeth Davis. Stanfield had aspirations for dental school and was beloved by his teammates and coaches, the university said. He served in Heller’s Men of Distinction and read to children in local schools. Stanfield was a defensive tackle on the Paladins
