Sao Paulo: People who have had zika run a higher risk of subsequently having severe dengue and being hospitalised, a new study has showed. The analysis by a team of Brazilian researchers showed that patients with a history of zika infection had a 2.34 times higher risk of developing severe dengue. They also had a 3.39 times higher risk of hospitalisation compared to the controls (subjects with no dengue and no zika history).
