In recent news, late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has taken aim at Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers for his controversial comment regarding convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. During a recent interview, Rodgers made a passing remark comparing the media frenzy surrounding himself to the attention given to Epstein. Kimmel wasted no time in criticizing Rodgers for his insensitive and inappropriate comparison.
Kimmel, known for his sharp wit and fearless commentary, did not hold back in expressing his disappointment with Rodgers' comment. He argued that comparing oneself to a notorious criminal like Epstein trivializes the seriousness of the crimes committed by him. Kimmel emphasized that it is crucial for public figures to be responsible with their words and understand the impact they can have on society.
Rodgers addressed Kimmel's remarks on the "Pat McAfee Show" and he said he understands "how serious an allegation of pedophilia would be for [Kimmel] to get upset at," but denied his comments had gone that far.
"I'm not stupid enough to accuse you of that with absolutely zero evidence... I'm glad you're not on the list because those who are on the list — and this what I think we can agree on — that at minimum there should be an inquiry into their involvement, especially if they went to the island," he said. "And at maximum, there should be an investigation."
Kimmel said in his opening monologue: "And then it did come out, and, of course, my name isn't on it. ... I don't know Jeffrey Epstein, I've never met Jeffrey Epstein, I'm not on a list, I wasn't on a plane or an island or anything ever.
"A lot of delusional people honestly believe I am meeting up with Tom Hanks and Oprah at Shakey's once a week to eat pizza and drink the blood of children," he continued.
"Either he actually believes my name was going to be on Epstein's list, which is insane, or the more likely scenario is he doesn't actually believe that; he just said it because he's mad at me for making fun of his topknot and his lies about being vaccinated," Kimmel said.
Rodgers addressed the comments he made about Kimmel Tuesday when he appeared on the "Pat McAfee Show."
The New York Jets quarterback denied he implied Kimmel was a pedophile and condemned those who do, but he stopped short of apologizing for his role in escalating their burgeoning feud.
