NFL Recap: Eagles 33, Giants 25

In a thrilling matchup between two long-standing rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles emerged victorious with a hard-fought win over the New York Giants. The game was filled with intense moments, showcasing the true spirit of football and leaving fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

From the very beginning, it was evident that both teams were determined to secure a crucial victory. The Giants displayed their offensive prowess early on, scoring two touchdowns in quick succession. However, the Eagles swiftly retaliated with an impressive passing game led by their star quarterback. His accurate throws and strategic decision-making allowed them to close the gap and eventually take control of the game.

Even though this wasn't under anyone's tree this morning, the Philadelphia Eagles gave the City of Brotherly Love the ultimate Christmas gift — a win over the New York Giants.

And yes, of course, Jalen Hurts and coach Nick Sirianni heard the booming chants that echoed throughout the Linc from Eagles fans fed up with the pass-heavy offense that stalled in the second half.

Untimely miscues have been a theme of late, and Philadelphia committed a couple of them in the second half. They lost a fumble on the opening kickoff in the third quarter, and quarterback Jalen Hurts threw a pick-six to Adoree' Jackson when tight end Dallas Goedert stumbled making a cut, allowing the Giants to pull within two. Hurts and the offense responded with an 8-play, 75-yard scoring drive to help pull out the win and avert disaster. But the feeling in the stadium was less that the Eagles are back on track and more like they were fortunate to be playing a bad team.

Adoree’ Jackson gave the Giants (5-10) a late spark when he returned an interception 76 yards for a score and Saquon Barkley converted a 2-point conversion that made it 20-18 late in the third quarter.

Hurts and the Eagles held on thanks to the play calls of the fans, many dressed as Santa Claus.

Fed up with the pass-heavy offense, Eagles fans chanted “Run the ball! Run the ball!” in the fourth.

The Giants outscored the Eagles 15-0 in the third quarter, which included a 76-yard pick-six by cornerback Adoree' Jackson. With a successful two-point conversion, the Giants cut the deficit to 20-18 heading into the fourth quarter. Philadelphia, however, immediately responded with an eight-play, 75-yard touchdown drive, stretching the lead back to two possessions.

The Giants elevated outside linebacker Tomon Fox from the practice squad.
