Vikings vs. Raiders (3-0), Justin Jefferson is injured and Joshua Dobbs is benched

Ivan Pace, Jr., was all over the field, making tackle after tackle to start the game.

He also got two hands in on sealing Minnesota's 3-0 win Sunday.

The undrafted rookie picked off Raiders rookie Aidan O'Connell's pass to Davante Adams with a diving catch at the Las Vegas 34-yard line with 1:52 remaining.

The interception — the first of Pace's career — allowed the Vikings to run off 1:45 before a pooch punt by Greg Joseph gave the ball back to Las Vegas with just seven seconds remaining.

Pace finished with a career-best 13 tackles, which included a sack. He also showed athleticism by backflipping in the end zone after nabbing the interception.

Jefferson headed for the sideline and was evaluated before he was transported to a local hospital out of precaution.

His day ended with 9:10 remaining in the second quarter. His two catches for 27 yards on three targets led all Minnesota players in a scoreless first half.

It's been a tough fourth pro season for Jefferson, who missed the previous seven Vikings games because of a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 5 against the Chiefs.

The Vikings lost wide receiver Justin Jefferson, the 2022 AP Offensive Player of the Year, in the second quarter to a chest injury. He was taken to a hospital, Fox Sports reported on its telecast. This was Jefferson's first game back after missing the previous seven because of a hamstring injury.

Las Vegas lost running back Josh Jacobs to a knee injury in the fourth quarter. Jacobs led the NFL in rushing last season with 1,653 yards. He had rushed for more than 100 yards in two of the prior three games.

Neither team scored in the first half, the second time that happened Sunday. The Texans-Jets game also was 0-0 at intermission. According to Fox, it was the first time since October of 1998 that two games were scoreless at halftime on the same day.

Jefferson said last week that his new goal for the season was to finish with 1,000 yards. That might be difficult after his latest injury.

"It's been hard to adjust those goals honestly," Jefferson said last week. "To have missed seven games throughout the season, especially on the pace that I was going before the injury. It's a little tough to see Tyreek going crazy every single week, to see different people throughout the whole league doing tremendous things. It's been tough because it's the first season that I've been hurt since I've been into the league."
