“Dancing With the Stars” has officially crowned the winner of Season 32! The season came to an end on Tuesday night, with the Len Goodman Mirrorball trophy being awarded to Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy.
The Season 32 finale kicked off with an opening number that included this season’s couples performing on the dance floor. The eliminated stars — including Barry Williams, Lele Pons, Mauricio Umansky, Harry Jowsky, Mira Sorvino and more — danced to “Young Hearts Run Free” by Candi Staton alongside the five finalists.
Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy are the winners of "Dancing With the Stars" season 32.
Gomez and Chmerkovskiy took home the coveted Len Goodman Mirrorball trophy in the season 32 finale Tuesday night, the first finale in "DWTS" history to feature five couples. Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach came in second.
After nine weeks of eliminations and themed nights – from Taylor Swift night to Monster Night on Halloween – all five couples who made it to the semifinals shockingly progressed to the finale: actor Xochitl Gomez with partner Val Chmerkovskiy, actor Alyson Hannigan with partner Sasha Farber, "The Bachelorette" star Charity Lawson with partner Artem Chigvintsev, "Vanderpump Rules" star Ariana Madix with partner Pasha Pashkov, and singer-songwriter Jason Mraz with partner Daniella Karagach.
Energy in the ballroom was high from the start with co-hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro kicking off the episode with a warm welcome and a celebration of the five finalists — a first for the show — as they prepared to compete for the winner's title.
Before the dances kicked off, the judges — Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba — shared their individual insight on what each finalist brings to the ballroom and why they could potentially win it all.
The cast then performed an opening dance number, which featured the season 32 pros and the return of their celebrity partners, as well as the five finalists entering the ballroom from the ceiling, suspended on their own disco balls.
The couple with the highest judges score also earned the most votes from the fans. The combined votes have 17-year-old Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy as this season's dance champs. The duo received perfect scores from the judges in the last four rounds of competition!
Mraz ended in a strong second place, followed by Madix, Lawson and Hannigan.
