Washington State win over Colorado 56-14

The Colorado Buffaloes face the Washington State Cougars tonight for a Week 12 showdown. Both teams are 4-6 coming into tonight's game. The Buffaloes have struggled all season despite a 3-0 start, but they're still the most talked about team of the 2023 NCAA college football season. Deion Sanders, aka Coach Prime, might have something to do with that.

Colorado (4-6, 1-6) has lost four straight since a 4-2 start after falling 34-31 to Arizona last week. The loser of this game will be eliminated from bowl contention.

Colorado hits a pivotal game to keep their bowl hopes alive on Friday night against Washington State. Both teams have a 4-6 record and need to win out for the postseason, along with looking to end their respective losing streaks. The Buffs have lost four straight, including three consecutive games to ranked opponents by a six-point average. The Cougars went 4-0 to start the season and haven't tasted victory since late September.

Washington State is almost as bad as CU averaging 81.0 yards per game which puts them 128th in the nation. Like CU, Washington State struggles to give a back over 10 carries and relies mostly on the passing game. The Cougars have also yet to see a running back eclipse 100 yards in a game this season Nakia Watson leads the way with 70 carries on the season for 236 yards. However, last week Leo Pulalasi led the team with 11 carries for 66 yards. It was just the second game this season that Pulalasi has played in. Washington State, like CU, is looking for the bell cow.

Colorado enters this Friday night football matchup boasting a 4-6 record and a disappointing 1-6 mark in Pac-12 conference play. The last time the Buffs took the field back in Week 11, they suffered a crushing 34-31 loss at the hands of Arizona.

Washington State comes into Friday night football with an identical 4-6 record on the season, plus an ugly 1-6 mark in conference play. The Cougars were last in action this past Saturday, when they narrowly lost to the Golden Bears by a 42-39 score.

Much like their Friday night opponent, the Cougars have a very efficient passing attack that is among the best in the conference. Washington State averages 337.9 yards per game, and the Cougars have more than three times as many passing touchdowns (22) as interceptions (seven) this season.
